Key takeaways
Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort is the best all-inclusive in Punta Mita. It has 15 adults-only tented bungalows, never more than 30 guests at a time, and a nightly rate that covers all food and drink, a 90-minute spa journey and guided experiences.
Naviva is the only all-inclusive on the gated Punta Mita peninsula. Secrets Bahia Mita, Dreams Bahia Mita and Iberostar Selection Playa Mita sit a short drive outside the gates: the two Bahia Mita resorts on Banderas Bay, and Iberostar on the Pacific at Litibú, just north of the peninsula.
Secrets Bahia Mita is the adults-only alternative with more going on: 278 suites and 11 restaurants shared with the family resort next door.
For families, Iberostar Selection Playa Mita and Dreams Bahia Mita split the decision. Iberostar first earned AAA Four Diamond status in 2014 and has a Greg Norman golf course five minutes away. Dreams opened in 2021 and runs separate clubs for kids and teens.
The St. Regis Punta Mita and Conrad Punta de Mita aren't all-inclusive. Both sell rooms without a full meal plan, so they're covered separately below.
All-inclusive resorts in Punta Mita and the bay around it
Punta Mita is a 1,500-acre gated community on the peninsula at the northern tip of Banderas Bay, about 45 minutes by car from Puerto Vallarta's airport. The two large resorts inside the gates, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and the St. Regis, don't sell all-inclusive rates. Naviva, a separate 15-tent Four Seasons property on the edge of the same gated community, is the one all-inclusive there.
Search for an all-inclusive in Punta Mita and you'll also be shown three larger resorts just outside the gates: Secrets Bahia Mita and Dreams Bahia Mita, which share a single site on Banderas Bay, and Iberostar Selection Playa Mita, which faces the Pacific in the planned community of Litibú. They use the same airport and stretch of coast as the peninsula, at a very different scale: between 278 and 452 rooms each, against Naviva's 15.
We ranked the four on what the rate actually includes, rooms and privacy, food, service, and recognition from independent sources (Condé Nast Traveler, AAA, Forbes Travel Guide, U.S. News and Tripadvisor). For a wider view of the coast, see our ranking of the best luxury resorts in Riviera Nayarit.

1. Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort: best overall
Naviva has 15 tents, takes no more than 30 guests at once and folds nearly everything you'll do into the nightly rate. It's also the only all-inclusive on the Punta Mita peninsula.
Four Seasons opened Naviva in December 2022 as its first adults-only tented resort in the Americas. The 15 bungalows, designed by Luxury Frontiers, are spread across 48 acres of forest above the Pacific. Standard tents run about 1,250 square feet and grand tents about 1,700, and each has a private plunge pool, a soaking tub and an outdoor shower. There's no front desk. Instead, a personal guide plans each stay before arrival.
The nightly rate includes all food and drinks (many premium wines and spirits among them), one 90-minute spa journey per stay, and select guided experiences from a program the resort calls Unscripted Naviva, which runs from a snorkel safari to an agave spirits tasting. Some outings cost extra: The Points Guy priced a boat trip to the Marietas Islands from $1,000. Cocina Copal, the resort's restaurant, works without a standing menu, and in-tent dining runs 24 hours. Wellness centers on the House of Heat temazcal and two open-air spa pods set in the trees. Guests also have full access to Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, five minutes away, a separate resort with two golf courses, three pools and two beaches. That resort isn't all-inclusive, so it's worth asking at booking which of its charges Naviva's rate covers.
Naviva made Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List and Travel + Leisure's It List in 2023, appeared in Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and was named to the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List in 2026. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four-Star.
The catch: Price comes first. In October 2025, The Points Guy reported Ocean-View Bungalows starting at about $3,520 a night, taxes and fees included. The resort's own beach, La Solana, is rocky and better for walking than swimming, so swimmers use the beach at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. Airport transfers cost extra, and because the whole resort can be booked for exclusive use, some dates disappear to buyouts.
Best for: Couples on a honeymoon or anniversary who would rather have privacy and a stay planned around them than a big resort's list of amenities.

2. Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort: best for adults who want a full resort
An adults-only resort with 11 places to eat, a 33,000-square-foot spa and surf lessons on site.
Secrets Bahia Mita opened in August 2021 in a gated community on Banderas Bay, just outside the Punta Mita peninsula, and belongs to Hyatt's Inclusive Collection. Its 278 suites were designed by the Mexican architecture firm Sordo Madaleno. The Unlimited-Luxury rate covers meals, top-shelf drinks, 24-hour room service, a minibar restocked daily, activities, tips and taxes. Guests eat at four adults-only restaurants plus seven more at Dreams next door, and most of them take no reservations. The Secrets Spa by Pevonia has 19 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy circuit, and surf lessons are offered on the beach. Tripadvisor gave it a Travelers' Choice award for 2026.
The catch: Secrets shares its site with family-friendly Dreams, and the resort itself warns adult guests that they may cross paths with children from next door. Spa treatments, motorized water sports and dinner at Bordeaux cost extra, and airport transfers aren't included.
Best for: Couples and groups of adults who want plenty of dining choice and a livelier atmosphere, and don't need Naviva's seclusion.
3. Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: best for families who golf
The most established resort on this list, with a kids' club for ages 4 to 15 and an 18-hole Greg Norman course five minutes away.
Iberostar opened Playa Mita in December 2013 as its first hotel on Mexico's Pacific coast. It sits in Litibú, about 30 kilometers from Puerto Vallarta, and opened with 452 rooms, among them 120 oceanfront junior suites and 18 adults-only spa rooms. The rate covers buffet meals and unlimited dinners at the specialty restaurants, the 24-hour Star Café, room service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., a minibar restocked daily, and an hour a day of non-motorized water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling. The Star Camp kids' club splits children into three age groups, and the three pools include the Aquafun water park and an infinity pool. AAA first rated the resort Four Diamond in 2014, and U.S. News currently ranks it fourth among its Best All-Inclusive Pacific Coast Resorts.
The catch: It's the oldest of the four, and U.S. News notes that guests need a taxi or car to reach Punta Mita's shops and restaurants. Airport transfers aren't included.
Best for: Families with children up to 15, and golfers who want a course close by.
4. Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort: best for families with teens
The family half of the Bahia Mita complex, with 421 suites and separate clubs for kids and teenagers.
Dreams Bahia Mita opened alongside Secrets in August 2021 and shares its site, about 50 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. With 421 suites, it's the larger of the two. Children aged 3 to 12 have the Explorer's Club, teenagers have the Core Zone, and there's a splash park for younger swimmers. Dreams also runs on Hyatt's Unlimited-Luxury rate, and its guests can book treatments at the shared Secrets Spa by Pevonia. Teppanyaki dinners are open to guests 12 and older and need a reservation. Tripadvisor gave it a Travelers' Choice award for 2026.
The catch: Tripadvisor reviewers mention construction noise and extra charges for some services. Babysitting costs extra, and there's no golf on site.
Best for: Families with children from toddlers to teenagers who want a newer resort and a wide choice of restaurants.
How to choose an all-inclusive in Punta Mita
The four resorts answer different trips, so start with who's traveling.
A honeymoon, anniversary or other milestone: Naviva, where a personal guide plans the days and the whole resort feels like a private camp.
Adults who want a bigger, more social resort: Secrets Bahia Mita, as long as sharing the site with a family resort doesn't bother you.
Families who golf, or want a resort with a long track record: Iberostar Selection Playa Mita.
Families with teenagers who want newer rooms: Dreams Bahia Mita.
Luxury resorts in Punta Mita that aren't all-inclusive
Two resorts come up in nearly every search for Punta Mita hotels. Neither sells an all-inclusive rate, which is why they aren't ranked above.
The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is one of two large resorts inside the gated peninsula, with 120 rooms and suites on 22 acres, St. Regis butler service, and access to Punta Mita's two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses. AAA has listed it as Five Diamond since 2009, and the Michelin Guide gives it one Key. Marriott's booking engine offers only room-only rates, which started above $1,000 a night for January 2027.
Conrad Punta de Mita opened in September 2020 in Litibú as Conrad's first resort in Mexico. It has 324 rooms, seven restaurants and bars, and three pools, including adults-only pools with a swim-up bar. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four-Star. Hilton doesn't sell an all-inclusive rate there; the fullest meal option is breakfast included.
When to visit Punta Mita
The dry season runs roughly from December to May, and January to March is the coolest stretch, with Puerto Vallarta averaging about 71°F. The official whale-watching season in Banderas Bay runs from early December to late March, so it's easy to time a trip for both.
The rainy season runs from mid-June to mid-October. The eastern Pacific hurricane season officially lasts from May 15 to November 30 and peaks from July to September.
How to get to Punta Mita
All four resorts use Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). Naviva is about 45 minutes from the airport, and the resort arranges transfers for a fee. Secrets and Dreams Bahia Mita are about 50 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, and Iberostar Selection Playa Mita is about 30 kilometers from the city. None of the four includes transfers in the standard rate, so you'll want to book them with the resort or a private driver before you land.
